Abstract

This paper focused on the contributions of Social educators in promoting peace and security in Nigeria. Nigeria society today is bedeviled with a mirage of problems ranging from kidnapping, cultism, insecurity, Boko Haram, activist, corruption, religious bigotry and devaluation of human life. These problems posed a great challenge on the peaceful co-existence and security of Nigeria as a nation. It becomes imperative therefore, for a social educator to mediate an accord to quench and promote peace and security. Meaningful progress on peace and security cannot be achieved in a terrorized society. It is therefore, concluded that social educators should be used to promote and inculcate positive attitudes, values and skills in citizens to curtail the act of terrorism and that the government should be proactive in its security strategies through good governance.
