The study investigated the relationship between child labour and academic performance among social studies students of Junior Secondary School (JSS Ill) in Cross River State's Ogoja education region. Framework for Ex post-Facto analysis has been adopted. The instruments used to collect data for the analysis were a 30-item questionnaire and a 40-item achievement test. Easy sampling method has been applied. Six hundred and ten (610) students from the 74 public secondary schools in the district were randomly selected using two schools each from a local government area in the study zone. Data collected is subject to the Coefficient of Correlation of Pearson Product Moment. The study result revealed negative significant relationship between child labour, and the academic performance of upper basic students in Cross River State's Ogoja education region. It is clearly founded, on the basis of the above results, that students who are victims of one type of violence or the other are likely to perform poorly academically.
