Abstract

This study evaluated educators training needs on blended and online learning strategies tor effective Social Studies implementation in North East Universities in Nigeria. Literature review was carried out based on the variables under study. Descriptive survey research design was considered most suitable tor the study. Simple random sampling technique was adopted in selecting the 189 respondents sampled tor the study. A validated 12 items tour point modified likert scale questionnaire was the instrument used tor data collection. The reliability estimate of the instrument ranged from 0.80 using Cronbach Alpha method. To test the research questions tor the study, descriptive analysis of mean and standard deviation was used. The findings revealed that educators training needs on blended and online learning strategies tor effective Social Studies implementation in North East Universities in Nigeria are possible and suitable. It was recommended among others that Workshops, seminars and conference should be organized in service training and this should precede the introduction of on line learning in universities in Nigeria.
