Abstract

This study investigated the influence of teachers' classroom creativity and students' effective learning of Mathematics in Senior Secondary School in Cross River State. A sample of 300 SS II students was used for the study. A multi-stage random sampling technique (stratified and simple random sampling) was used to compose the sample. Three research questions were answered and three null hypotheses were tested in the study at p 0.05. Two instruments namely: Teachers' classroom creativity in Mathematics (TCCM) and Mathematics Performance Test (MPT) were used to collect the data. The data obtained were analysed using simple regression analysis. It was found that teachers' classroom creativity in terms of classroom environment significantly influences students' effective learning of Mathematics. Also, from the result of analysis teachers' classroom creativity in terms of classroom communication was not statistically significant. Based on these findings, it is recommended among others that classroom teachers make Mathematics class more creative, so that students can learn effectively at their own space.
