Abstract

The study sought to determine the relationship between needed paradigm shift in curriculum evaluation and sustainable development goal in education. Two research hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. Survey research design was adopted in every of its nature. A total of three hundred and two teachers of the Faculties of Education in the University of Calabar and Cross River State University of Technology were used for the study. The faculties within these universities practice the same National University Commission (NUC) approved courses. Stratified random sampling procedure which was based on sex, rank and population of lecturers was used to draw the actual sample of 211 lecturers selected from ten departments within these institutions, this constitutes 66.22% of the entire population. 4-point likert scale instrument titled: Paradigm shift in curriculum and sustainable development goal question (PSCSDGP) consisting of  18 items were generated to measure comprehensive monitoring, curriculum evaluation and sustainable development goal in education and hypotheses tested at 0.5 level of significance. Finding indicates a significant relationship in comprehensive monitoring curriculum evaluation and sustainable development goal education. It was recommended amongst others that Boards of institution and school management should ensure equitability in the distribution of monitoring team to enhance effective implementation of the curriculum for the attainment of sustainable development goal in education.
