Provision and Distribution of School Infrastructure among Educational Zones for Implementation of Ube Policies in Cross River State, Nigeria

Abstract

This study examines provision and distribution of school infrastructure among educational zones in Cross River State, Nigeria. To achieve the purpose of this study, one research question was raised. The descriptive research design was adopted. A population of 321 Social studies teachers in Upper Basic school of Cross River State, Nigeria was used. This population was purposively used as census. The instrument named Distribution of School Infrastructure Checklist (DSIC) was used for data collection. The results revealedĀ  that there is no even provision and distribution of school infrastructure on the basis of education zones to promote the implementation of UBE policies in upper basic Social Studies in Cross River State, Nigeria. It was concluded that this lopsided provision and distribution of infrastructure has as well placed someĀ  schools in an advantage position over others whose students are seen receiving lesson under trees shade. Based on the above findings and the conclusions made, recommendation was made thus: There is need for the creation of infrastructure distribution and monitoring organ in the ministry of education to regulate and ensure even distribution of infrastructure in the area.
