This study This study investigated group discussion and workshop attendance: A viable tool for biodiversity conservation in forest communities of Cross River State, Nigeria. To achieve the purpose of the study, two research questions were raised and two hypotheses formulated and tested at 0.05 level of significance. Multistage sampling procedure was used to select 6 local government areas within the Southern and Central Senatorial district of Cross River state for the study. The sample of this study 382 respondents. The instrument for data collection was a 20-item structured questionnaire developed by the researcher. The instrument was titled “Group Discussion and Workshops and Biodiversity Conservation Questionnaire (GDWBCQ)”. From the administered questionnaire, data was analyzed using Pearson Product Moment Correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis respectively. The findings of the study revealed that Group discussion and Workshop attendance, significantly relates to biodiversity conservation in forest communities in Southern and Central Senatorial district of Cross River State. It was recommended there should be a proper enlightenment campaign against overexploitation of biodiversity through the use of group discussions, posters, flyers public address system etc and effort should be made by the government to promote workshop and seminars in villages towards environmental conservation.
