The study examined basic education learning process and students' learning outcome in Calabar education Zone of  Cross River State, Nigeria. To achieve the purpose of this study, one research question and one null hypothesis was formulated to guide the study. Literature review was carried out based on the research variable. Ex-post facto research design was adopted for the study. While a sample of three hundred (300) students’ was used for the study. The selection was done through a multistage approach. The questionnaire titled Basic Education Learning Process (BELPQ) and Students’ Learning Outcome Test (SLOT) were used for data collection. The reliability estimate of the instruments was established through Cronbach Alpha reliability technique. Simple linear regression was the statistics tool used for the data analysis to test the hypothesis under the study. The hypothesis was tested at 0.05 level of significance. The result of the analysis revealed that basic education learning process significantly relate with students’ learning outcome. Based  on the findings of the study it was recommended that if more awareness is created about the important of learning process on students’ learning outcome, there may be reduction in the rate of failure in school.
