Google Meet Technology on Educational Technology students' academic performance in the University of Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria

The study examined the utilization of Google Meet Technology on Educational Technology students’ academic performance in the University of Calabar, Nigeria. Three purpose of the study and three corresponding null hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. Quasi-experimental research design using pretest posttest non-randomized control group design was used for the study. The population of the study comprised all 276 year three educational technology students in the University of Calabar. The sample is made up of all 121 students purposively selected and used for the study. An instrument titled Educational Technology Performance Test (ETPT) was used for data collection. The results of the study were analyzed using analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). The result revealed that there is a significant difference in academic performance of educational technology students when taught using Google Meet Technology and those taught with expository method, there was no significant difference in the academic performance of educational technology students taught using Google Meet Technology based on their cognitive ability levels, there was a significant difference in the academic performance of educational technology students when Google Meet Technology based on frequency of use. It was therefore recommended amongst others that educational technology lecturers should be exposed to effective use of Google Meet Technology in teaching educational technology courses.
