Abstract

This study investigated the extent to which United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) activities influence the provision of healthcare services in the prevention of HIV and AIDs and communal participation in development projects in Boki and Ikom Local Governments Area of Cross River State. One null hypothesis was formulated to guide the study. The Expost-facto research design was adopted for the study. A sample of seven hundred and ninety-two (792)  respondents was accidentally selected from nine (9) wards in Boki and Ikom Local Government Areas of Cross River State. Data were collected using 40 item research questionnaire titled influence of UNDP Activities in the provision of portable drinking water inputs (UNDPPDW) projects. Data obtained were analysed using population t-test analysis. The result obtained revealed that the provision of healthcare services by UNDP significantly influenced communal participation in development projects. Based on the findings, it was recommended that the rural dwellers can only take part in new developmental projects and other helpful skills training to enable young adults participate in communal development project.
