The purpose of the study was to investigate environment and active participation in keep-fit programme among undergraduate students of Human Kinetics and Health Education, University of Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. To achieve this purpose, one null hypothesis was formulated and tested at 0.05 level of significance. Literature was reviewed according to the variables of the study. Survey research design was used as the most appropriate for the study. Stratified random sampling technique was adopted to select all levels of students in the department while simple random sampling technique was adopted to select the two hundred (200) respondents used for the study. A structured questionnaire was the instrument utilized for data collection. The instrument was properly vetted by relevant experts. To test the hypotheses formulated for the study, Pearson product moment correlation statistical tool was utilized for data analysis. The result obtained from analysis of data and testing of hypotheses revealed that there was a significant influence of conducive environment and active participation in keep-fit programme among undergraduate students of Human Kinetic and Health Education, University of Calabar. Based on these findings it was recommended among that the department of Human Kinetic and Health Education should liaise with relevant authorities to provide a conducive environment for the conduct of keep-fit programme in order to improve students’ participation.
