Abstract

This study investigated the influence of restructuring the curriculum to reflect digital platforms in secondary school level and educational sustainability in Calabar Education Zone of Cross River State, Nigeria. Specifically, the study examined the influence of Google and WhatsApp platforms on education at secondary level of education in the study area. The survey research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study consisted of all the secondary school teachers in public secondary schools in Calabar Education Zone of Cross River State, Nigeria. The stratified sampling technique was used for the study. A total of five hundred (500) teachers were used for the study and questionnaire titled; Restructuring Curriculum for Digital Platforms Questionnaire (RCDPQQ) was the instrument for data collection. Independent t-test analysis was used for testing the hypotheses at .05 level of significance. Based on the findings, recommendations; the curriculum innovators should restructure the curriculum to reflect digital platforms at all levels of the education system, the government should provide enabling environment for digital education to thrive by providing ICT facilities in schools and the teachers should endeavor to upgrade their skills in effective use of digital platforms in the school system.
