Abstract

This paper examines the link between child abuse and insecurity challenges in Nigeria. This critical review examines the intersection of child abuse and security challenges in Nigeria, highlighting the complex and multifaceted nature of these issues. The study synthesizes existing literature to identify the prevalence, causes, and consequences of child abuse in Nigeria, as well as its links to broader security challenges, including terrorism, kidnapping, and communal violence. The review critiques current policies and interventions, arguing that a more comprehensive and coordinated approach is needed to address the root cause of child abuse and mitigate its impacts on national security. The study concludes by proposing recommendations for government, policymakers, NGOs, researchers, community members, and families, to better address these interconnected challenges
