Abstract

The paper examined the effect of Team Teaching on Students' Academic Achievement in Biology in Secondary Schools in Cross River State. The study used a pre-test post-test control group quasi experimental research design. Two secondary schools were randomly selected and two intact classes of 100 Senior Secondary Two (SS2) Biology students were used for the study. The instrument for data collection was the Biology Achievement Test (BAT) developed by the researchers. Data collected was analysed using the Analysis of Co-variance. The result of the study showed that the students taught using Team Teaching Approach (TTA) achieved significantly better than those taught through the conventional single teacher classroom approach. It was recommended among others that Biology teachers in their various schools should be organized and encouraged to jointly plan and teach the subject, to ensure that the best of such teachers in the team effort is harnessed towards effective teaching of Biology.
