Abstract

This paper is aimed at explaining the political economy of food crisis and agricultural productivity in Nigeria. Today, we live in a country where food crisis have become alarming for the nation’s economy and the sufficiency of agricultural produce have become a major concern for the Nigeria populace as the price of food commodities has been on an increase on day to day scale with unpleasing effect on the Nigeria citizen or population at large. In our country today, millions of people are living in abject poverty, which lack of political economy that prioritize agricultural productivity, food sufficiency and visible development has been said to be responsible for this appealing situation. This paper in future will be of immense importance to Nigerians and African leader, students, civil societies and government officials. It is designed to make the readers have a better understanding of political economy of food crisis and agricultural productivity in Nigeria and suggest way forward of this bad situation
