STRATEGIC PLANNING APPROACH OF ECONOMICS EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT: IMPERATIVE FOR NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

The paper focused on strategic planning approach of economics education sustainable development as imperative for national development. It explored education for sustainable development, concept of sustainable development and factors that is inhibiting sustainable development. It also indicate the role of economics education in national development, importance of strategic planning of economics education, need for strategic planning approach of economics education and strategic planning approach model for economic education functionality. The paper further highlighted the relevance of studying economics education. It concluded by stressing economics education should be accorded a pride of place and their relevance in achieving national development.
