Abstract

Learning and innovation skills are increasingly recognised as essential for preparing learners to navigate the complex life and work environments of the 21st century. Effective learning and teaching emphasize collaboration and critical thinking, which are fundamental in equipping students for their futures. The ability to think creatively and collaborate effectively plays a crucial role in the development of preschool children. This paper explores the importance of collaborative learning and critical thinking as vital pedagogical approaches. It argues that these skills are essential for holistic child development and school readiness, encouraging educators to adopt innovative strategies that foster teamwork and analytical thinking. The paper presents practical strategies for developing critical thinking in preschoolers through play-based activities and open-ended questioning. It recommends that caregivers actively engage children in interactive and stimulating activities, encourage group work among preschoolers, create a conducive learning environment, and model collaborative behaviours
