Review Process
The review process for Education for Today is designed to ensure the publication of high-quality, impactful, and original research. The journal employs a rigorous double-blind peer review process to maintain objectivity and fairness. Below is a step-by-step outline of the review process:
1. Submission of Manuscript
Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system or via email to the editorial office. Submissions must adhere to the journal's formatting and submission guidelines to proceed to the next stage.
2. Initial Editorial Screening
- Objective: The editorial team performs an initial check to ensure the manuscript complies with the journal's scope, formatting, and ethical standards.
- Outcomes: Manuscripts that fail to meet these basic requirements may be rejected or returned to the author for revision.
- Plagiarism Check: The manuscript undergoes a plagiarism screening using appropriate software to ensure originality.
3. Assignment of Editor
The Editor-in-Chief assigns an Associate Editor with expertise in the manuscript’s subject area to oversee the review process.
4. Peer Review Invitation
- The assigned editor invites at least two qualified reviewers who are experts in the manuscript's field of study.
- Reviewers are selected based on their academic credentials, research experience, and previous reviewing history.
5. Double-Blind Peer Review Process
-
Anonymity: To ensure impartiality, neither the reviewers nor the authors know each other’s identities.
-
Evaluation Criteria: Reviewers assess the manuscript based on the following:
- Relevance to the journal's scope
- Originality and contribution to the field
- Rigor and validity of the methodology
- Clarity and coherence of the argument
- Adequacy of the literature review and references
- Quality of tables, figures, and other supplementary materials
-
Review Outcomes: Reviewers provide detailed comments and recommend one of the following actions:
- Accept without revisions
- Accept with minor revisions
- Revise and resubmit (major revisions required)
- Reject
6. Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers’ feedback, the assigned editor makes a recommendation to the Editor-in-Chief, who makes the final decision. Authors are notified of the decision, accompanied by reviewers' comments.
7. Revision Process
- If revisions are required, the authors are given a specified timeframe to address the reviewers’ comments and resubmit their manuscript.
- The revised manuscript may be sent back to the original reviewers for re-evaluation or assessed by the editor alone, depending on the extent of the revisions.
8. Final Decision
- After satisfactory revisions, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision regarding acceptance.
- Accepted manuscripts are sent for copyediting, typesetting, and proofreading.
9. Publication
- Upon completion of the production process, the manuscript is published online in the next available issue of Education for Today.
- Authors are notified of the publication date and provided with a link to their article.
10. Appeals Process
If authors disagree with the editorial decision, they may submit an appeal letter to the editorial office. Appeals are reviewed by an independent panel of editors, and the decision of the panel is final.
