MANAGEMENT OF TECHNOLOGICAL RESOURCES AND ACADEMIC STAFF SERVICE DELIVERY IN PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES IN CROSS RIVER STATE, NIGERIA

This study was conducted to examine management of technological resources and academic staff service delivery in public universities Cross River State, Nigeria. “Two hypotheses were formulated to guide this study. The sample of this study was 821 academic staff randomly selected from the population of 2867 academic staff. An instrument tagged “Managing Technological Resources and Academic Staff Service Delivery Questionnaire (MTRASSDQ)” was used for data collection. The instrument was face-validated by experts in Educational Management and Measurement and Evaluation. The instrument was also trial-tested to determine internal consistency using the Cronbach Alpha method. The reliability coefficients ranged from .81 to .87. Simple Linear Regression Analysis was used for data analysis. The results of the analysis revealed that, management of institutional digital repositories and Google Classroom significantly predicted academic staff service delivery in public universities in Cross River State, Nigeria. Arising from the findings of the study, it was concluded that it is necessary to ensure that technological resources in the school system, particularly, in the university community are effectively managed to facilitate effective service delivery on the part of academic staff members. One of the recommendations was that, the university should ensure that, institutional repositories are effectively managed and improved upon by procuring, providing, utilizing and maintaining the necessary digital facilities to help motivate academic staff in their service delivery.
