NUTRITION CUM PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: DETERMINANT FACTORS IN HEALTH MANAGEMENT IN BOKI LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF CROSS RIVER STATE

This study looked into how nutrition, physical activity and health management relate to each other in the Boki Local Government Area of Cross River State. Two hypotheses were developed for data analysis in accordance with the specific objectives of the study in order to accomplish its goal. The population of the study comprised 186,611 people. Survey research design was adopted for the study. A multi-stage procedure involving purposive and accidental sampling techniques was adopted to select a total of two hundred and ten (210) adult inhabitants (males and females) of all socio-economic statuses in Boki LGA of Cross River State, Nigeria. Data was gathered using the "Nutrition and Physical Activities Questionnaire" (NPAQ). Simple linear regression analysis was used to examine the data. The findings showed a significant relationship between health management, physical activity, and nutrition in the Boki Local Government Area of Cross River State. It was therefore concluded that adequate nutrition and regular physical activity is necessary in maintaining optimal health through promotion of healthy lifestyles among residents in research area. Sequel to the study findings, it was recommended that to promote healthy lifestyles in Boki Local Government Area, it is essential to implement comprehensive awareness campaigns that emphasize the importance of healthy nutrition and encouragement of physical activity among residents via community-based initiatives among other.
