Abstract

Developmental challenges in Nigeria are on the increase. Such challenges in the 21st century center around technology, economic, social, employment, security, and health issues. Education is considered a useful tool for solving these challenges. Quality education, however is required to propel the society for efficiency in all aspects of national life. Absence of quality education will hinder humans from coping with life’s challenges. However, there has been hue and cry about the products that pass out from our educational institutions. This could be accounted for by poor quality of teaching, disruptions in academic activities due to industrial actions and nonuse and/or misapplication of teaching and learning resources. Thus, some parents have resorted to enrolling their children/wards in other schools in the sub-region such as Ghana, Sierra Leone and Benin Republic (Owan Enoh, 2019).
